The specs are very close to my gaming desktop. I have the 9900k with 32gb g skills royal at 4000 mhz, I wanted 4600 mah but it's only 16gb of ram. I also have 970 evo plus 3 of them, one 250 gb and two 2tb, two 1tb 860 evo each. Total of 6.2 tb of fast ssd storage. I can even add 2 more nvme since I have the pci gen 3 nvme card. I have the msi z390 godlike motherboard, evga 2080 ti ftw 3 graphics card and noctua NH-D15 cpu cooler. I have 4k movies in iso format and music with 24 bit hi res and some in 16 bit wav thats why I have alot of storage.

I got a nice gaming laptop (RTX 1060) and it’s loud too but damn nothing like that thing

I recommend keeping the keyboard cover cloth on when closing. It will help keep finger oils off the screen. I had that issue with my alienware m18. Looking to upgrade to this.

My Dell XPS M1730 Laptop from Years ago had upgradable Dual SLI (8700M GT’s and I think there were 8800’s you could get that weren’t released widely IIRC, but still not that hard to get). It had the separate AGEIA PhysX Accelerator Card too. It all still in great shape, except the Battery won’t hold a Charge. Then I bought an Aurora R4 Desktop and a M13 R3 Laptop together. I’m just returning to Windows, waiting for my M15 R3 after living in Apple Land for too long.

I noticed something weird : this computer is also sold in a French tech store, which labels it, not as XMG, but actually as an LDLC Bellone XXT8 (LDLC being the name of the store), and they have both the same specs, aside from the the fact that the LDLC one comes with 64 GB of RAM. Those two mystery ports look like eSATA ports to me. Could be for U.2 drives I guess. Oof nevermind, those are more likely the two power connectors. Yup. Not a great value with just a 1080p display, even at 240Hz, I would expect at least 1440p for this kind of price.

Today when I walked into my economics class I saw something I dread every time I close my eyes. Someone had brought their XMG Ultra 17 to class. The Forklift he used to bring it was still running idle at the back. I started sweating as I sat down and gazed over at the 700lb beast that was his laptop. He had already reinforced his desk with steel support beams and was in the process of finding an outlet for a power cable thicker than Amy Schumer's thigh. I start shaking. I keep telling myself I'm going to be alright and that there's nothing to worry about. He somehow finds a fucking outlet. Tears are running down my cheeks as I send my last texts to my family saying I love them. The teacher starts the lecture, and the student turns his laptop on. The colored lights on his RGB Backlit keyboard flare to life like a nuclear flash, and a deep humming fills my ears and shakes my very soul. The entire city power grid goes dark. The classroom begins to shake as the massive fans begin to spin. In mere seconds my world has gone from vibrant life, to a dark, earth shattering void where my body is getting torn apart by the 150mph gale force winds and the 500 decibel groan of the cooling fans. As my body finally surrenders, I weep, as my school and my city go under. I fucking hate gaming laptops.

This thing probably cannot beat the performance of $2000 laptop in a few months. Zephyrus G14 with Ryzen 9 and RTX 2060 is only $1450 on BestBuy as now, and It can goes down to 1100-1300 if you find a good deal. Just image next Gen of G14 with newer Ryzen 9, and RTX 3000 series improves significantly over RTX 2000 series.

Reminds me of when I got my alienware gaming laptop a few years ago. I actually love those bulky portable desktop alternatives. It's just the price is too much. I'll most likely never buy one again because if that and go for a regular pc build, unless prices get more consumer friendlier

I don't like how he handles expensive tech like its some kind of an industrial machine i wouldn't be surprised if his daily tech is beat up and scratched to Oblivion, as someone who sells my used devices and components on the internet i treat them with care so they could last and serve others for many more years to come.

Poor choice for components. Who needs all of that RAM and then just limited to RTX 2080 bottleneck on the selected Intel processor. Not a balanced or well thought out design IMO
